About this role
Role overview
Own the shared infrastructure and reliability practices that support a cloud-first corporate IT environment. You’ll build the automation and engineering framework used across IT platforms, helping systems stay secure, observable, recoverable, and maintainable as the organization grows.
Responsibilities
- Manage access, guardrails, and cost for cloud accounts used by IT, and coordinate with security and infrastructure teams on tenant-level changes. - Build and maintain the Git repositories, CI pipelines, and review practices used to manage IT configuration as code. - Automate identity lifecycle processes, including provisioning, onboarding, and offboarding across connected systems. - Establish monitoring, alerting, configuration drift detection, SaaS backups, and tested recovery procedures for critical systems. - Bring admin scripts and internal utilities into source control, document them, and keep them operational. - Set shared standards for office IT deployments, operational documentation, change control, certificates, and DNS management.
Requirements
- At least six years in corporate IT engineering, systems engineering, or SRE, including two or more years owning shared infrastructure or automation in a SaaS-first environment. - Practical infrastructure-as-code experience, using Terraform or a similar tool with Git, pull-request reviews, and CI. - Proficiency in Python and at least one of Bash, PowerShell, or Go. - Hands-on experience with identity and provisioning standards such as SAML, OIDC, and SCIM, and lifecycle automation in Okta or Entra. - Working knowledge of a major cloud platform, including IAM, account management, and cost fundamentals. - Familiarity with DNS, TLS, certificate management, and enterprise networking; experience building trusted monitoring and useful runbooks. - Clear written communication, including the ability to explain technical changes, risks, and rollback plans to non-engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience with configuration-as-code providers or tools for identity, collaboration, or device management platforms. - Familiarity with IT automation platforms, SaaS backup and recovery, or multi-region office rollouts involving vendors and ISPs. - Experience supporting a fast-growing organization where IT capacity had to scale quickly.
