Head of Business Systems & Security
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A senior, broadly-scoped leadership role owning the business systems, security programme, and internal IT for a global B2B SaaS gifting and swag platform. The position covers the full application estate, including NetSuite, Salesforce, Workato, and DealHub, the integration layer and data governance beneath them, SOC 2 and access control, and the device and endpoint footprint across UK, US, and Portugal teams. Beyond running the estate, the role carries a standing mandate to automate manual work across the business and to lead how AI gets adopted and embedded into day-to-day workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end business systems estate, including NetSuite, Salesforce, Workato, and DealHub, the integrations connecting them, and the data governance layer underneath. - Set the architecture, operating model, and roadmap for how the organization uses its systems, and lead a small team of systems engineers alongside specialist delivery partners. - Act as the accountable business owner for the SOC 2 Type II programme, the security policy set, and the risk register, and lead customer security assurance through questionnaires, RFPs, and enterprise due diligence. - Own identity and access management, joiner, mover, and leaver processes, and the device and endpoint estate across three countries. - Decide how AI is adopted across the business, including the tools invested in, the workflows rebuilt around them, and the training that keeps people using them well, and run the AI governance framework covering acceptable use, data handling, and the controls customers and auditors expect. - Take a standing remit to go into other teams' processes, automate what should not be manual, and publish the impact.
Requirements
- 5+ years in business systems, IT, or BizTech leadership within B2B SaaS, including at least 3 years leading a function or team, ideally in a private equity-backed environment. - Deep, hands-on ownership of an enterprise CRM, ERP, and the integration layer between them, with direct experience on Salesforce, NetSuite, and Workato or equivalent platforms. - Accountable ownership of a SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 programme, rather than supplying evidence into someone else's. - Experience owning identity and access, SSO, and the device estate at 100-plus headcount across multiple countries. - Genuine, hands-on fluency with AI, including daily personal use, the ability to tell a real use case from a demo, and a track record of putting AI into workflows other people depend on. - The technical judgment to say whether an approach is right, the confidence to tell senior stakeholders when the process is the problem rather than the tooling, and the ability to translate technical trade-offs into commercial impact for any audience.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote role based in the UK. - Competitive salary with generous stock options. - Pension with employer contributions. - Affordable private medical insurance, including mental health support and fast access to care. - Flexible paid time off that increases with tenure, plus extra flexibility for life's unexpected moments.
