Role overview
This remote role supports the development and modernization of enterprise analytics products used across education, workforce, financial, procurement, and operational functions. The analyst will turn stakeholder needs and governed data into reliable dashboards, reports, semantic models, and visualizations while partnering with analysts, engineers, governance specialists, and business users.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, visualizations, semantic models, KPIs, and DAX-based calculations. - Prepare, transform, validate, and reconcile data using Power Query, SQL, and governed lakehouse sources. - Support report migration from legacy environments, including functional checks, data validation, and user acceptance testing. - Gather requirements and translate them into use cases, process flows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria. - Help resolve reporting, data-quality, semantic-model, and access-control issues, including support for row-level security and workspace permissions. - Produce documentation, quick-reference guides, training materials, demonstrations, and adoption support for technical and non-technical users.
Requirements
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI. - Working knowledge of DAX, calculated measures, Power Query, and SQL. - Understanding of dashboard design, data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and data-quality practices. - Experience gathering or documenting business and reporting requirements. - Strong organization, communication, analytical, collaboration, and documentation skills. - An active Secret clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, lakehouse data sources, semantic models, row-level security, or workspace administration. - Background in dashboard migration, reporting modernization, self-service analytics, education data, federal reporting, or domains such as enrollment, assessment, workforce, finance, and procurement. - Exposure to AI-assisted business intelligence tools and experience creating user guides or training materials.
