Senior Software Engineer I

Role overview A senior engineering role on a scaling team building web-based technology for the real estate closing process. The position focuses on full-stack web development for a shared digital platform that brings together buyers, sellers, lenders, title and escrow agents, and real estate professionals. The team ships new software weekly and emphasizes both collaborative teamwork and independent project ownership.

Responsibilities - Build and extend core web applications across both frontend and backend layers - Develop and integrate with payment-processing systems and third-party software integrations - Make key architectural decisions for large, complex, high-stakes projects and back those decisions with research - Mentor less experienced developers and provide technical support across the team - Operate as a generalist, taking on a flexible mix of projects based on team needs and personal interests - Partner directly with design and customer-facing teams to shape new product experiences

Requirements - 5+ years of experience as a full-stack web developer - Proven track record of taking responsibility for complex projects with significant impact - Experience making architectural decisions and performing supporting research - Demonstrated mentorship of junior engineers - Background working across both small and large engineering teams - Strong product sense, attention to detail, and passion for end-user impact

Nice to have - Comfort with a microservices architecture and cloud-based infrastructure - Familiarity with event-driven or event-streaming systems - Experience with payments-related systems or regulated software environments
