Job details
About this role
Role overview This pre-sales Solutions Architect role serves as the technical face of a Microsoft-channel practice serving financial services institutions. The architect partners with Microsoft field teams and internal sellers to shape solutions across Azure modernization, data foundations, and governed AI agents, while owning the economics that make pursuits fundable and deliverable.
Responsibilities - Own the technical story for the Microsoft offer in financial services across Azure modernization, Fabric and Purview data foundations, and agents on Foundry governed by Agent 365. - Work alongside sellers and Microsoft account executives, cloud solution architects, and partner development managers to qualify opportunities and become the obvious technical choice on existing accounts. - Own proposals end-to-end, including pricing, scoping, requirements gathering, SOW writing, and co-leading RFPs with the sales team. - Build the TCO and ROI case plus a sized Azure consumption ramp, and identify partner funding the pursuit qualifies for. - Stand up POCs and working artifacts in hours or days when a pursuit needs proof, then hand deep technical work to the delivery team with clean scope. - Package what works into reusable financial services IP and repeatable offerings the broader team can sell.
Requirements - 10+ years in financial services technology, including 7+ years in or alongside the Microsoft field, with working knowledge of Partner Center, co-sell-ready offers, MACC, and partner funding. - Hands-on financial services background covering lending, core banking, payments, origination, underwriting, servicing, collections, KYC, AML, fraud, transaction monitoring, reconciliation, and disputes. - Commercial ownership
experience: priced proposals, defined scopes, written SOWs that got signed, and defended effort models. - Executive presence with CIOs and CEOs, comfort with multi-year, multi-tower deals in the multi-million-dollar range. - Azure architecture credibility; AZ-305 preferred or willingness to earn it within six months. - Sufficient agentic depth to scope Foundry, Agent 365, evals, human-in-the-loop gates, audit logging, and the cost of running agents at volume.
Nice to have - Microsoft Fabric and Purview experience (Azure Databricks also counts). - Time at a Microsoft Partner of the Year firm or at Microsoft itself. - Experience building financial-services-specific IP or accelerators. - Experience standing up a practice or offering from near zero. - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role with a target US on-target earnings range of $225,000 to $255,000 plus benefits, with 15 days PTO, 9 US holidays, 5 wellness days, a closed office the last week of the year, medical, dental, and vision coverage, an IRA with up to 3% match, paid parental leave, and a 40-hour work week culture.
