About this role

Role overview A Staff IT Engineer is needed to lead the technical direction of a Device Infrastructure Services team responsible for the hardware and OS standards across a roughly 2,000-endpoint fleet. The position is a hands-on technical leadership role, focused on steering a deliberate shift from legacy device management toward DevOps and AI-enabled operations while coaching the engineers doing the build.

Responsibilities - Own the technical direction of endpoint management, defining tooling, configuration standards, and security baselines that keep a large macOS/Windows/Linux fleet compliant, configured, and patched - Drive a DevOps operating model for device management, with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices at the center of how endpoints are provisioned and updated - Set and execute the multi-quarter roadmap, balancing long-term vision against near-term operational priorities - Write production-grade automation in Bash, Python, and Terraform, and review code from peers with a critical eye - Mentor and coach team members, raising the technical ceiling across the group and leading through organizational change - Apply AI-assisted approaches to accelerate IT operations while exercising judgment about where AI helps and where it introduces risk

Requirements - 7+ years of IT and enterprise endpoint management experience, including 2+ years at a senior or staff individual-contributor level, with a track record of building and managing endpoints using GitOps - Broad knowledge of enterprise endpoint management plus deep operating-system-level experience across macOS, Windows, or Linux, with the ability to recognize fleet-wide patterns and ship fixes that prevent recurrence - Strong scripting and infrastructure-as-code skills in Bash, Python, and Terraform - Practical experience using AI tools to enable or accelerate IT operations - Deep working knowledge of endpoint security fundamentals: encryption, patch and vulnerability management, EDR, least-privilege enforcement, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 - Proven ability to define and drive technical roadmaps and to mentor engineers in a focused, collaborative team environment

Nice to have - Background integrating AI-assisted coding tools into engineering workflows while preserving quality and security standards

Benefits and work setup - Remote-first role based in Canada or the United States - Travel expected for in-person connection, including team and department offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events - Parental leave top-up programs and competitive health benefits - Generous paid time off policy - Retirement savings plan with employer matching - Equity grants for most employees - Paid volunteer days and a peer recognition program - Remote work requires working from the employee's home country
