Role overview
A fully remote Senior Backend Developer position focused on building autonomous agents for an all-in-one SaaS platform serving property management companies. The work spans inbox agents, voice agents, harness engineering, knowledge-base retrieval, and LLM infrastructure on a TypeScript stack.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine Inbox-Agents — autonomous agents triggered when something new happens inside a ticket, including deciding when an agent should escalate to a human versus complete the task - Apply harness engineering principles to decide what belongs in system prompts versus skills and how agents read requests the way a property manager would - Improve knowledge base search and AI retrieval through better tools, prompts, and skills - Build Voice-Agents on LiveKit that handle phone calls the way text agents handle tickets - Optimize LLM infrastructure including model selection, caching, streaming, retries, context compaction, RAG, cost reduction, and evals
Requirements
- More than two years of experience building production agents - AI-native in production, with shipped agentic features that real users rely on - Strong opinions on retrieval, evals, tool design, and where frontier models break down - Up to date with new AI models and the surrounding research - Writes almost all code using AI tools - Comfortable working autonomously with full ownership of tasks - Performs well under performance pressure - Quick learner who considers themselves a generalist - Fluent in English
