Senior Backend Engineer - ClickPipes Platform

Role overview

Senior backend engineer role on a team building the services that power large-scale data ingestion for a cloud analytics platform. The work happens at petabyte scale, solving challenges in distributed systems, fault tolerance, and high-throughput ingestion. You will help make these pipelines performant, reliable, and easy to operate, with broad ownership of technical decisions.

Responsibilities

- Build and evolve integrations with streaming platforms and object storage systems, including Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Storage - Continuously improve systems based on operational metrics, customer feedback, and evolving business requirements - Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions affecting platform scalability and resilience - Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and respond to production incidents

Requirements

- 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems - Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem - Experience designing systems for scalability and fault tolerance, with understanding of concurrency, consistency, and failure recovery - Understanding of cloud-native architecture and practical experience with at least one major cloud provider - Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in distributed systems - Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across engineering and product teams

- Experience with data ingestion pipelines, streaming platforms, or object storage systems
