Senior Software Engineer

Role overview Senior hands-on engineer role on a SaaS Employee Experience platform, designing and implementing complex features, improving system performance and reliability, and mentoring other engineers within a team that serves thousands of organizations and tens of millions of end users. The role translates architectural guidance into robust, maintainable implementations and contributes to architectural discussions through strong technical execution and domain expertise across distributed, event-driven services.

Responsibilities - Design and develop high-quality, scalable systems and services aligned with architectural standards and product requirements. - Implement microservices and APIs with emphasis on maintainability, performance, observability, and reliability, owning complex features end-to-end from design through deployment, monitoring, and operational support. - Build and enhance services leveraging serverless, event-driven, and container-based technologies such as Lambda, ECS, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and RDS. - Ensure solutions adhere to authentication, authorization, and security best practices including OAuth2, OIDC, and RBAC, and contribute to compliance and data protection work such as GDPR and PII handling. - Participate in code reviews, uphold best practices in coding, design, testing, and CI/CD, and proactively address technical debt and reliability risks. - Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers, Architects, Product Managers, and DevOps, support observability initiatives around metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting, and contribute to agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.

Requirements - 5–8 years of software development experience delivering production-grade applications in distributed or SaaS environments. - Strong experience in either Node.js/TypeScript (including asynchronous programming and modular architecture) or Java (Spring Boot, concurrency, RESTful services), plus familiarity with React or a similar modern front-end framework. - Solid understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenancy concepts, RBAC, and SaaS security principles, with hands-on experience designing microservices, using Docker and Kubernetes, and working with AWS managed and serverless services. - Working knowledge of event-driven systems such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, EventBridge, or Kinesis, plus observability and automated testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows. - Strong communicator who can contribute to architectural discussions, mentor teammates, and uphold engineering best practices.
