Remote job
Freelance Marketing Designer, Web
Job details
About this role
Role overview A freelance web-focused marketing designer is needed to raise the visual quality of a customer-facing marketing site. The work centers on designing, improving, and maintaining pages within a Webflow-based CMS, with occasional support for campaign creative, slides, ads, email UI, and other brand assets. This is a strong visual design role, not a product, UX-research, or front-end engineering position, and there is a pathway to a full-time opening for interested freelancers.
Responsibilities - Design, iterate on, and maintain marketing site pages built in Webflow, balancing launches with ongoing CMS upkeep - Translate growth and marketing briefs into polished, component-led landing pages and reusable patterns - Apply strong judgment in typography, hierarchy, spacing, composition, image selection, and responsive behavior - Extend and contribute to an existing component system rather than producing one-off pages - Create campaign creative, slides, ads, email UI, and select brand assets when needed - Communicate clearly with non-design partners, write useful specs, and give developers actionable feedback - Use AI tools thoughtfully to move faster without lowering craft standards
Requirements - 2–4 years in marketing, web, brand, or related digital design, with an exceptional portfolio of polished marketing sites and landing pages - Strong Figma skills and a sharp eye for typography, spacing, hierarchy, and responsive layouts - Experience working in a CMS or no-code/low-code site builder (Webflow experience welcome but not required) - Ability to work within and extend an existing component system - Meticulous, reliable approach to quality across both high-visibility launches and routine maintenance - Clear written communication and comfort juggling concurrent requests with practical trade-offs
Nice to have - Webflow experience including CMS collections, global components, slots, variables, and publishing workflows - Basic HTML/CSS literacy - Experience briefing, reviewing, or QAing agency or freelance developer work - Background in a high-trust, regulated, consumer-facing, or content-heavy business - Familiarity with accessibility, localization, SEO-aware content templates, or conversion-oriented web design
Benefits and work setup - Generous paid time off including 20 vacation days - Comprehensive benefits plan with premiums fully covered - Professional development support including a learning budget, AI tooling budget, twice-yearly performance reviews, and ongoing feedback - Remote-first culture with the option to use a Toronto office, plus two in-person social gatherings per year covered by the company - Performance-based stock options
