About this role

Role overview A senior UX designer is needed to take ownership of the player experience across two complex sandbox engineering games at an international game studio. The position centers on translating intricate mechanics—construction, physics, crafting, exploration, and survival—into clear, intuitive interactions while shaping both new features and existing systems from early concept through release. It is a hands-on, versatile role suited to someone who can move beyond UX theory into adjacent disciplines such as visual/UI design or technical UI prototyping.

Responsibilities - Own UX across both flagship sandbox titles, identifying friction points, diagnosing usability problems, and proposing practical improvements for live systems and upcoming features. - Translate complex mechanics, interconnected systems, and gameplay requirements into intuitive flows, menus, HUD elements, onboarding sequences, and in-game interactions. - Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and UX specifications, validating solutions early before significant development time is invested. - Contribute beyond documentation where appropriate, through polished UI/visual design, high-fidelity prototyping, or hands-on UI integration and implementation. - Validate UX decisions using playtesting, player feedback, analytics, telemetry, and other available evidence. - Partner with Game Design, UI Art, Engineering, Production, and QA to balance player needs, design intent, visual clarity, and technical and production constraints.

Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience as a UX Designer, Game UX Designer, or equivalent, with substantial time on shipped PC and/or console games. - A portfolio or case studies demonstrating an end-to-end process: problem definition, user flows, wireframes, prototyping, iteration, and final solutions. - Hands-on capability in at least one adjacent discipline—ideally UI/visual design, or alternatively technical UI prototyping, integration, or implementation. - Strong grasp of interaction design, information architecture, usability principles, navigation systems, design systems, and reusable component libraries. - Experience designing for sandbox, simulation, strategy, management, or other systems-heavy games involving inventories, building systems, crafting, progression, or control schemes. - Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to have - Visual/UI design skills covering typography, layout, iconography, and visual hierarchy. - Familiarity with accessibility principles in game UX.

Benefits and work setup - Hybrid-by-default arrangement with remote flexibility within a CET ± 2 hour window. - Modern offices in Prague featuring quiet focus zones, garden areas, gym, showers, bike storage, fully stocked kitchen, and prepared lunches. - 25 days of annual leave plus flexible sick leave. - Low-bureaucracy environment with fast decisions and regular team events such as breakfasts, workshops, and meetups.
