Product Manager - Voice AI
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A high-ownership Product Manager role leading Voice AI efforts for local businesses. The position centers on shaping how AI-powered phone agents answer, understand, and convert incoming calls into real outcomes such as booked appointments and completed sales. You will own the roadmap for an outcome-driven conversational platform spanning telephony, scheduling, and CRM integrations across multiple service verticals.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with business owners, service managers, and front-desk staff to understand call handling workflows and listen to live conversations - Shape long-term strategic direction for the voice platform, deciding where to deepen capabilities and where to expand into new verticals and workflows - Define the real-time conversation model, including turn-taking, interruption handling, latency budgets, tone, and graceful error recovery - Design and ship agents that answer every call, schedule appointments, and automate high-value workflows using first-party telephony and third-party integrations - Partner with engineering across speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLM orchestration, and telephony layers to deliver one coherent product rather than a stitched-together vendor stack - Define and operationalize call quality metrics such as answer rate, containment, resolution, booking rate, latency, and conversation quality, then build the feedback loops that improve them - Work cross-functionally with design, partnerships, finance, legal, sales, onboarding, and customer success to ship and support the product
Requirements
- 5-7 years of product management or related industry experience building technical products - Solid understanding of AI agent design patterns, human-in-the-loop systems, and enterprise integrations - Technical depth to collaborate with engineers on real-time systems, streaming behavior, latency budgets, and failure modes - Demonstrated high agency, with a track record of identifying opportunities and driving projects forward with minimal oversight - Customer-obsessed approach to turning field insights into clear prototypes, product narratives, and demos - Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, from specs and prototypes to iteration on shipped features
Nice to have
- Hands-on coding experience - Background in machine learning, large language models, or large-scale systems integration - Startup, founder, or entrepreneurial experience - Technical degree or equivalent real-world expertise - Experience with vertical SaaS or local business software such as Auto, Healthcare, or Home Services - Experience leading partner integrations or channel-based expansion - Experience driving business initiatives beyond product development
Benefits and work setup
- In-office presence required five days a week for local candidates - Open and transparent culture - Life insurance plus short- and long-term disability coverage - Paid maternity and paternity leave and fertility benefits - Generous vacation time plus three 4-day summer holiday weekends - Medical, dental, and vision benefits - 401(k) plan - Bi-annual swag drops - On-site gym with professional coaches and classes - Subsidized on-site child care center - Equal opportunity employer providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants
