Role overview
This is an entry-level position for a Data Analyst joining a Core Banking Systems team that ensures every transaction handled by the company's banking products is accurately reflected in accounting records. The role sits at the crossroads of product, engineering, data, and finance, operating across multiple regional markets. It offers hands-on exposure to production financial data and the back-end systems that keep ledgers consistent from day one.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile records between the product engine and accounting systems, surface discrepancies, and investigate them to root cause - Design and maintain dashboards and reports sourced from the data warehouse - Refine and standardise reconciliation workflows so they become more reliable and scalable - Partner with system analysts and adjacent teams to investigate non-standard product and financial cases - Work with production datasets to build a deep understanding of how banking transactions flow through internal systems - Translate complex financial and technical problems into clear, structured outputs
Requirements
- Degree in a mathematical or technical discipline from a strong academic institution - Solid grounding in mathematical statistics, probability theory, and structured problem solving - Strong SQL skills - Meticulous attention to detail with the patience to dig into complex cases - Ability to investigate systematically until root causes are fully understood - English sufficient for reading technical documentation - Genuine curiosity about fintech, banking, and financial products - Comfort working with large datasets and formulating the right analytical questions
Nice to have
- Experience with Airflow and Streamlit - Familiarity with columnar databases - Hands-on work building or using AI agents for coding and automation tasks
