About this role
Role overview
Join the Authentication engineering team as an individual contributor focused on the cloud services and infrastructure behind an enterprise identity verification platform. The work centers on a multi-year migration of authentication workloads to the cloud, with an emphasis on building services that are reliable, scalable, performant, and secure. You will partner closely with experienced engineers, test, research, and product teammates while owning well-scoped projects end to end.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain cloud services and workflows that power authentication capabilities, primarily in Go and Python. - Operate cloud-native services across AWS and GCP, working with technologies such as Kinesis, DynamoDB, and S3. - Carry projects from design and implementation through rollout and ongoing operational support. - Apply established engineering patterns and contribute improvements to reliability, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability. - Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions, offering and receiving constructive feedback. - Investigate production issues, use modern observability tools to diagnose behavior, and turn operational learnings into better monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and deployment practices. - Share in an on-call rotation, including occasional after-hours coverage as distributed support expands.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience developing production applications in Go or Python on a cloud-focused platform. - Familiarity with AWS-native services such as Kinesis, DynamoDB, and S3. - Self-starter who executes reliably within a team of strong engineers and follows through on commitments. - Clear written and verbal communication, including precise documentation skills. - Experience collaborating with product and customer-facing teams to deliver real-world use cases. - Resilience in the face of change and ambiguity, with an optimistic, delivery-oriented mindset.
Nice to have
- Background in security, identity, or authentication domains. - Exposure to GCP in addition to AWS.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first culture with opportunities for in-person team events. - Competitive compensation including equity for all employees. - Unlimited paid time off plus company-wide rest days. - Generous health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage with HSA contributions. - Paid parental leave, plus a year of diaper delivery for new parents. - 401(k) with competitive match, identity protection benefits, and an employee assistance program. - New-hire and recurring monthly home office allowance, plus a hardware choice such as an Apple MacBook Pro. - Annual professional development stipend, wellness programming, and team social events.
