Senior AI Product Designer: AI Experiences (Contractor)

Role overview The Senior AI Product Designer works as a full-time contractor on a 12-month engagement, designing the AI-driven parts of a large-scale creator platform used by a global audience. The role blends product design, prototyping, and AI-native thinking to shape generative creation, agentic workflows, and the surfaces where creation meets automation across web and mobile.

Responsibilities - Prototype and test generative and agentic experiences using a mix of design tools, AI tooling, and code-based approaches, putting working prototypes in front of creators early. - Anchor design decisions in user research and behavioural data, keeping work tied to how creators actually create. - Partner with product, engineering, data science, growth, and marketing from problem definition through shipping. - Shape how creator assets and outputs are surfaced and reused through search, recommendations, and automation. - Work within an internal design system, extending it as new AI-native patterns require. - Help define what good AI-native design looks like for the wider design organisation and raise the bar for peers.

Requirements - Strong traditional product design craft, including typography, layout, spacing, hierarchy, motion, states, and edge cases, carried into AI-driven workflows. - Five or more years designing consumer-facing products, ideally SaaS, creative tools, or productivity platforms. - Experience designing complex systems such as content platforms, dashboards, automation tools, or multi-surface ecosystems. - Comfort with AI-assisted design workflows and rapid prototyping, plus familiarity with front-end code or code-based prototyping, including vibe coding, with a shipped example to show. - Sound judgement about when a system should suggest, draft, act, or stop and ask the user. - Track record improving activation, retention, or engagement flows and a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end thinking that moved a metric.

Nice to have - Designing AI-powered features such as generation, search, recommendations, auto-tagging, or smart organisation. - Experience with video or content-production workflows, file systems, cloud storage, or asset management tools. - An interest in AI-native experiences that go beyond today's established UI patterns, plus motion and animation craft.
