Role overview
A client-facing consulting role leading key workstreams on Atlassian Cloud migration projects. The work centers on moving Jira and Confluence instances from Server and Data Center deployments to Atlassian Cloud, including remediating complex scripted automations for the new platform. The engineer partners directly with client stakeholders across testing, cutover, and handover, balancing delivery leadership with deep hands-on scripting and administration.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute migrations using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant, covering test runs and production cutover - Inventory existing ScriptRunner scripts and decide whether to retire them, replace them with native Jira Automation, or rewrite them for ScriptRunner for Cloud - Serve as a primary technical contact for the client during user acceptance testing, cutover, and post-migration handover - Document decisions, trade-offs, and remediation patterns so other migration workstreams can reuse them
Requirements
- Track record playing a key role on multiple Atlassian Cloud migration projects - Advanced, hands-on experience remediating scripts for ScriptRunner for Cloud - Strong Groovy scripting skills paired with solid Jira administration fundamentals - Clear client-facing communication, including the ability to lead stakeholder conversations and run a cutover
Nice to have
- Experience building solutions with Jira Automation or Atlassian Forge - Background migrating Jira Service Management alongside core Jira instances - Atlassian certifications such as ACP-120 or equivalent
