Role overview
This contract position supports a small, nimble DevOps team embedded within a healthcare data and AI organization. The mission centers on improving telemetry, availability, and engineering sustainability—acting as the "engineers behind the engineers" by removing obstacles and keeping delivery flowing efficiently. The work spans cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, container platforms, and observability across multi-cloud environments handling regulated health data.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure that meets HIPAA and HITRUST compliance requirements - Design, implement, and manage highly available infrastructure supporting a Python- and cloud-based custom deployment platform - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Python scripts to automate testing, validation, and deployment workflows - Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, including managed offerings (EKS, AKS) and self-hosted clusters - Implement monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk - Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to shape DevOps architecture, infrastructure-as-code practices, and continuous delivery adoption
Requirements
- 4+ years of development experience on complex systems - Strong cloud experience, with AWS preferred - Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking - Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD using platforms such as GitLab, Jenkins, or Travis - Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes containerization - Fluency with Bash, Python, or Terraform, plus a bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a comparable discipline - Keen attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and a collaborative, team-first mindset
