About this role

Role overview

A senior, fully remote position for a database programming lead within a clinical research organization supporting oncology and other therapeutic area studies. The role owns end-to-end delivery of clinical databases, from study start through post-database lock, while leading programming teams and partnering with sponsors, vendors, and internal stakeholders across European operations.

Responsibilities

- Manage all programming aspects of clinical databases, including development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and post-database-lock support for assigned projects. - Lead operational study teams and programming team members, providing operational and technical training to end users and junior staff. - Forecast project hours, identify resource requirements, and manage project budgets including out-of-scope work and post-production changes. - Build and validate clinical databases and supporting programs, provide advanced system administration, and troubleshoot software and database issues. - Develop study-specific validation documents, contribute to SOPs and process documentation, and participate in software vendor selection and EDC demonstrations. - Communicate with sponsors, vendors, and project teams on data, database, or project issues, present software demonstrations and trainings, and perform all duties in line with SOPs, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements

- Minimum 8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Strong oncology background, with autoimmune disease experience considered a strong plus. - Hands-on proficiency with Rave and Veeva EDC platforms. - Working knowledge of CDISC standards including CDASH, SDTM, and ADaM. - Object-oriented programming experience in languages such as C#, C++, or VBS. - Proficiency building forms, edit checks, and complex rules across multiple clinical data management systems, plus broad familiarity with drug, device, or biologic development and effective data management practices. - Strong organizational and communication skills, professional written and spoken English, and experience in clinical database management system development within a clinical, scientific, or healthcare discipline.
