Cloud Engineer

Role overview Build and operate cloud infrastructure that supports engineering teams and helps them deliver services securely and reliably. The work combines AWS platform engineering, automation, cost management, reliability, and compliance support, with an emphasis on reusable self-service capabilities.

Responsibilities - Design and maintain AWS infrastructure using infrastructure as code, with attention to security, performance, and cost. - Create reusable CDK components, infrastructure standards, and paved paths for engineering teams. - Improve reliability through service objectives, runbooks, incident tooling, and follow-up improvements. - Manage cloud costs through tagging, budgets, forecasting, anomaly detection, and waste reduction. - Advise developers on infrastructure practices, delivery pipelines, and DevSecOps. - Support compliance work and coordinate with security specialists, cloud architects, and auditors.

Requirements - 3–5 or more years of professional DevOps, AWS, or platform engineering experience. - Hands-on experience building and operating AWS workloads with infrastructure as code; AWS CDK experience is strongly preferred. - Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. - A platform engineering mindset focused on automation, reusable capabilities, and self-service.

Nice to have - Familiarity with compliance frameworks including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST CSF. - Experience with identity and access management, CI/CD, containers, cost optimisation, or observability tooling.
