Role overview A remote opportunity for a clinically trained integration specialist to design and support interfaces between hospital systems and a healthcare communication platform. The role bridges customer clinical and technical teams with internal engineering, owning integration solutions from design through production support. It suits someone with both bedside clinical credibility and hands-on health IT engineering experience.
Responsibilities - Act as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders on integration solutions and clinical workflow design. - Partner with customer clinical and technical resources to scope, design, and support interfaces across hospital environments. - Collaborate with engineering on backend integration design, development, and testing of the integration domain. - Build HL7 interfaces inside an interface engine and create flat-file integrations using SSIS packages in Microsoft SQL. - Coordinate technical resources to implement third-party API integrations across customer environments. - Validate new data feeds and perform regression testing with each QA and production release; troubleshoot production integrations and coordinate sFTP, VPN, and engine upgrades. - Maintain documentation and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation supporting 24/7 production systems.
Requirements - Associate or bachelor's degree in a clinical field with active licensure. - 5+ years in a clinical IT role with enterprise-wide implementation and support experience. - Hands-on experience implementing HL7-based integrations and a strong grasp of hospital operations and clinical workflow. - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL Server Management Studio, and Lucidchart. - Strong written and verbal communication, sound critical thinking, and comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting. - Must reside in the US or Canada and be willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation; up to 10% travel.
Nice to have - Experience with FHIR APIs, WCTP integrations, JSON-based APIs (Swagger/Postman), and multiple HIT vendor platforms.
