Remote job
Lead Technical Program Manager - Remote
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Own delivery across a portfolio of complex technical programs, keeping engineering, product, and client-facing teams aligned on scope, dependencies, risks, and commitments. The role has a particular focus on translating major enterprise customers’ engineering requests into sequenced, deliverable work, while improving program practices across the technical program management function. It is a senior individual contributor position; it does not directly manage engineers or own a product area.
Responsibilities
- Manage the intake, scoping, prioritisation input, sequencing, and delivery tracking of engineering requests from major clients. - Translate customer needs into buildable requirements with product and engineering partners, and communicate delivery constraints back to client-facing teams. - Maintain clear ownership and status for commitments, and confirm scope and timing are ready before they are promised externally. - Build workback plans and dependency maps for releases, integrations, migrations, and cross-team engineering work; raise risks and trade-offs early. - Establish a practical operating cadence, record decisions, and support recurring sprint ceremonies and program retrospectives. - Improve reporting and program operations through automation, useful templates, reliable project tracking, and adoption of AI-enabled workflows; mentor less experienced program managers.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience independently delivering complex, cross-team technical programs. - Ability to understand engineering work well enough to challenge estimates, assess readiness, and make realistic delivery plans. - Strong skills in dependency management, risk identification, stakeholder communication, and turning ambiguous requests into clear plans. - Experience coordinating enterprise client commitments alongside roadmap work and surfacing conflicts with recommended options. - Ability to create lightweight processes that improve alignment without adding unnecessary overhead. - Availability to work remotely from within Canada, the United States, or Latin America, with regular overlap with London working hours.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote work from the employee’s home country in Canada, the United States, or Latin America, with flexible hours. - Flexible time off, described as 25 days plus public holidays; health or private medical cover; and a monthly wellness, fitness, and learning stipend. - Enhanced parental leave and access to a London office when visiting.
