Senior Software Engineer

Role overview A senior engineering role sits at the intersection of applied AI and clinical software, focused on shipping production systems that use large language models to transform how dental and clinical work gets done. The position spans three product areas: real-time clinical workflows that capture audio and turn it into structured documentation, agentic systems that orchestrate tool calls to automate actions, and data pipelines that ingest and enrich practice-management data. It is a hands-on, execution-oriented role for someone who can independently own meaningful components while partnering on system design.

Responsibilities - Build and operate real-time transcription and LLM-powered summarization pipelines for clinical workflows - Contribute to agentic systems, including tool-calling integrations, workflow orchestration, and safety guardrails - Develop across the stack: Node.js and TypeScript APIs, React frontends, PostgreSQL data models, and AWS services - Support event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, or comparable messaging infrastructure - Write reliable, testable code with an emphasis on maintainability and observability - Collaborate on prompt engineering and evaluation of model outputs, and help monitor and improve system performance

Requirements - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience - Strong sense of ownership and ability to deliver independently in ambiguous problem spaces - Backend experience building services with Node.js and TypeScript - Frontend experience with React and modern web development practices - Familiarity with AWS (Lambda, SQS, S3) and PostgreSQL data modeling - Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, or similar) and LLM-based systems such as prompting, structured outputs, or tool usage - Comfort writing tests for production systems and using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day work

Nice to have - Background in healthcare, dental, or other regulated technology domains - Experience with agent frameworks or LLM orchestration patterns - ETL pipelines, data integration, or multi-tenant SaaS experience - Infrastructure as Code using tools such as the Serverless Framework
