Senior Software Engineer (Customer Platform)

A Senior Software Engineer role on a Customer Platform team focused on building the shared, customer-facing capabilities that power multiple product lines. Responsibilities

- Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs that serve as shared infrastructure across multiple product lines and customer segments - Own features end-to-end, from initial design through implementation, rollout, and ongoing iteration, partnering closely with Product Management and front-end teams - Create clear technical design documents and drive design plans with confidence and ownership - Build platform capabilities including notifications, authentication, and API infrastructure consumed by external customers - Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with defined outcomes, helping the team navigate tradeoffs and ship iteratively rather than waiting for perfect - Ensure services are observable, resilient, and production-ready in a cloud-native environment

Requirements

- 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment - Proficiency with Go, or strong readiness to ramp quickly, as the codebase is written entirely in Go - Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and evolving public APIs consumed externally and internally, with understanding of versioning, backwards compatibility, authentication, and usability - Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native architectures, including containers and Kubernetes - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple product lines - Proven ability to thrive in a remote, startup-style environment that is fast-paced, self-directed, and comfortable with ambiguity

Nice to have

- Prior experience building platform or shared services that span multiple products or customer experiences - Background in the cloud-native, containers, or security ecosystem, including tools in the broader CNCF landscape - Meaningful open source contributions, especially as a maintainer or regular contributor in relevant projects
