Lead Developer (Python)

Role overview Lead hands-on Python engineering work while serving as the primary technical contact for client engagements. The role blends strategic consulting with active coding, guiding delivery teams and shaping technical direction across the full software lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Champion engineering best practices including clean code, test-driven development, pair programming, and reusable design patterns - Oversee end-to-end software consulting and delivery, from ideation through production evolution - Advocate for continuous delivery to ship high-quality software and value to end users quickly - Design solutions and select technologies that solve client problems within constraints, making pragmatic tradeoffs - Collaborate with teammates on features, design concepts, and prototypes while embedding UX and best practices - Apply modern language and tooling choices and continue coding alongside the team rather than stepping away from the code - Promote DevSecOps practices, infrastructure automation, and shifting security left in development - Mentor and develop engineers, encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture

Requirements - Strong proficiency in Python plus solid experience with React.js and FastAPI and modern object-oriented practices - Prior experience leading software development teams using Agile, Lean, and continuous integration - Knowledge of delivery practices such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing, and infrastructure automation - Demonstrated ability to influence others, advocate for technical excellence, and translate business needs into software requirements - Track record of developing a technical vision tied to business value and mentoring less experienced peers - Comfort navigating ambiguous situations and approaching challenges from multiple perspectives

Nice to have - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes - Interest in functional programming paradigms, event-driven architecture, or platform engineering
