Remote job
Mid-Senior Fault Tolerant Quantum Developer - W/M
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Advance the software and logical-computing architecture for fault-tolerant quantum systems, developing quantum primitives and subroutines suited to digital hardware based on neutral atoms. The work brings together quantum algorithms, error correction, circuit compilation, and hardware considerations, with collaboration across research teams, customers, and academic partners. The role is based in Europe.
Responsibilities - Work with algorithm and hardware specialists to identify or develop algorithms for early fault-tolerant systems, including quantum machine learning applications. - Study advances in quantum error correction and circuit compilation, and apply them to primitives used by relevant algorithms. - Assess how encoding and compilation choices interact with hardware operations and higher-level application strategies. - Collaborate with customers and academic partners to target useful industry and applied mathematics problems and evaluate future prospects for quantum advantage. - Prepare publications, contribute to intellectual property, present technical results, and track developments in the field.
Requirements - PhD in a technical discipline, particularly computer science, physics, or mathematics, with relevant research experience from academic projects or industry internships. - Strong familiarity with quantum information and algorithms, and a related programming framework such as Qadence, Qiskit, PennyLane, or Cirq. - Strong software development skills, preferably in Python; equivalent languages are also considered. - Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, with an autonomous and proactive approach. - Fluency in English.
Nice to have - Experience with fault-tolerant algorithms and end-to-end workflows. - Knowledge of quantum error-correction protocols, including simulation, compilation, and resource estimation. - Familiarity with neutral-atom architectures. - Knowledge of quantum machine learning, scientific machine learning methods, or frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Benefits and work setup - Permanent position in Europe within an international team. - Time for learning and attending conferences or meetups.
