About this role
Role overview A senior-level user research role shaping the experience of discovering, evaluating, purchasing, and managing consumer health products and membership offerings across global direct-to-consumer eCommerce touchpoints. The work combines hands-on qualitative and mixed-methods research with strategic guidance, supporting design, product, engineering, marketing, and commercial partners, with opportunities to expand into membership and business-to-business surfaces. The role also contributes to scaling research operations through frameworks, templates, and AI-assisted workflows.
Responsibilities - Spearhead holistic user research initiatives spanning digital commerce and enterprise portals, driving work from initial scoping through to strategic, actionable recommendations. - Design and execute user interviews, usability evaluations, concept tests, card sorts, and other qualitative techniques. - Partner closely with design, product management, engineering, insights, marketing, and commercial teams to surface the most important research priorities. - Synthesize research into impactful deliverables such as journey maps, entry point analyses, Jobs to Be Done frameworks, page-level goals, and friction maps. - Assess user experiences by combining qualitative findings with analytics, experimentation outcomes, and heuristic reviews. - Communicate themes effectively to leadership, tying customer motivations to business and product metrics, and contribute to research operations through scalable frameworks, templates, and lightweight workflows.
Requirements - Five or more years of dedicated user research experience with a history of leading end-to-end studies that shape product strategy. - Background evaluating digital commerce platforms alongside business-to-business, enterprise, SaaS, or complex web applications. - Strong qualitative research craft, including in-depth interviews, usability studies, and synthesis that draws responsible conclusions from small cohorts. - Confidence using AI tools to streamline participant recruitment, session moderation, transcript analysis, research repositories, and knowledge sharing while upholding data privacy, ethics, and study integrity. - Deep expertise with journey mapping, Jobs to Be Done, page-level objective definitions, heuristic reviews, and experience audits. - Ability to combine qualitative insights with quantitative metrics, telemetry, and experiment results, plus strong workshop facilitation and communication skills, ideally with exposure to centralized research repositories, behavioral analytics suites, experimentation tools, and scalable research operations in fast-growing or startup environments.

Benefits and work setup - Remote role based in the United States, with a slight preference for candidates in San Francisco, San Diego, or Boston. - Market-based pay by US region, with posted ranges of $172,550 to $203,000, $158,950 to $187,000, and $147,900 to $174,000 depending on location tier. - Health, dental, and vision insurance plus mental health resources. - A product ring of your own during tenure, 20 days of paid time off, 13 paid holidays, 8 days of flexible wellness time off on a prorated basis, and paid sick leave. - The employer is not currently considering candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin.
