About this role
Role overview A senior product design role shaping top-of-funnel digital experiences for a national public-media news and audio organization. The position spans the full design lifecycle, from concept through pixel-level launch, with a particular focus on audience acquisition, engagement, and conversion across web, mobile, voice, and connected-car surfaces. The role is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and may be performed remotely within approved U.S. locations or on-site.
Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end design of digital experiences, qualitative studies, design system standards, campaigns, and supporting collateral - Translate business requirements into audience-focused product or campaign goals and collaborate across disciplines to define shared vision - Build and evolve design system libraries in Figma to keep experiences consistent across platforms - Plan and run user research for new and existing products and translate findings into actionable recommendations - Partner closely with developers to prototype and refine shipped products and run design-thinking or co-creation sessions with stakeholders
Requirements - At least seven years of product design experience with two to three years focused on retention-driven projects on mobile, web, or other digital platforms - Demonstrated ability to simplify complex offerings such as personalization, onboarding, and growth features into intuitive, emotionally resonant experiences - UI expertise in scalable interaction patterns, adaptive experiences, and design systems for large-scale platforms - Experience designing across desktop, mobile, and connected devices, including both user-facing and internal tools - Proficiency in design thinking and agile methodologies, with versatile prototyping skills ranging from low to high fidelity - Track record advocating for and implementing design systems and applying accessibility standards
Nice to have - Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics to inform design iterations - Bachelor's degree in HCI, digital media, or a related field
