Job details
About this role
Role overview An internal IT team supporting a data intelligence platform serving defense, law enforcement, and enterprise customers is hiring a hands-on support engineer. The role blends day-to-day ticket work with project ownership, focused on macOS and Linux endpoints, identity and access management, and automation. This is a technical contributor position, not a leadership role.
Responsibilities - Resolve support tickets across macOS and Linux environments, including setup, device management, troubleshooting, and hardware and software lifecycle tasks. - Manage Identity and Access Management: user lifecycle, groups, roles, permissions, and SSO across core systems. - Take ownership of internal tooling, handling configuration, access, integrations, and lifecycle. - Lead onboarding sessions for new joiners as their first touchpoint with internal IT. - Drive internal IT projects from scoping through rollout and operations handover. - Automate user journeys such as onboarding, role changes, tool provisioning, and offboarding, while documenting systems and processes.
Requirements - Several years of advanced-level experience in IT support or internal IT, with prior end-to-end ownership of a system or topic. - Strong macOS and Linux support skills, command-line confidence, and basic scripting in Bash or Python. - Practical knowledge of Identity and Access Management, including SSO, MFA, directory services, roles, and permissions. - Experience running projects independently alongside day-to-day support work. - Comfort using AI agents and automation in personal workflows, plus solid documentation habits. - Clear communication with non-technical colleagues and a service mindset; English at C1 or above and German at B1 or above.
Nice to have - ITIL expertise through certification or equivalent practical experience. - Experience working in an ISO 27001 environment.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first arrangement across Germany, with regular team gatherings in Berlin and other off-site locations. - Flexible hours, a personal home-office equipment budget, and 30 days of vacation. - Performance bonuses tied to objectives and key results, plus personal and professional development support. - Welcome goodie bag, team events such as summer and Christmas parties, and a mission focused on public safety and national security.
