Full-Stack Platform Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A full-stack engineering role on an AI evaluation platform where the API surface is treated as a first-class product, not an afterthought. The position spans backend services for workflow orchestration, data ingestion, evaluation execution, and identity federation, as well as the analyst-facing web consoles people use to launch runs, inspect results, and diagnose failures.
Responsibilities - Design, implement, document, and maintain APIs for workflow orchestration, data ingestion, evaluation execution, and results management - Define stable, versioned interface specifications for external integrators and partner organizations - Implement brokered single sign-on and identity federation using OpenID Connect, SAML, and PKI or X.509 certificate-based authentication - Enforce authentication, authorization, and access-control requirements consistently across services - Design relational data models that support platform APIs and workflow requirements - Build analyst-facing web interfaces for launching workflows, inspecting results, and debugging failed runs - Develop UI for AI-specific patterns including streaming model output, long-running agentic runs, prompt and configuration management, and side-by-side comparison - Ensure analyst-facing UIs consume the same public APIs external integrators use, keeping the platform genuinely headless - Produce API documentation, integration guides, SDK examples, reference implementations, and notebooks for analyst and data science audiences - Support partner enablement and adoption
Requirements - U.S. citizenship and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance - Strong backend experience building API-first services with clear, versioned contracts - Frontend experience with a modern component-based web stack - Hands-on work with relational data modeling, identity federation, and access-control mechanisms - Comfort designing interfaces for AI/ML workflows, including streaming and long-running execution - Experience integrating AI or ML services, model gateways, or evaluation tools through documented API contracts - Familiarity with role-based or attribute-based access control models
Nice to have - Familiarity with design systems or component libraries - Active or previously held U.S. security clearance
Benefits and work setup - Two openings: one hybrid role based in Washington, D.C., Denver, or Colorado Springs with active TS/SCI preferred and up to 15% travel; one U.S.-remote role with clearance eligibility required - Salary range of $145,000 to $250,000 USD depending on experience and location - 100% employer-paid medical premiums for employees and self-managed PTO
