Remote job
Product Manager, Agent Platform
Job details
About this role
Role overview Join as the founding product manager for a multi-surface agent platform that helps developers and teams put AI models to work across terminal, chat, and desktop environments. The mission centers on enabling seamless model switching so users avoid being locked into a single model family. This is a zero-to-one builder opportunity inside an established company with existing distribution, working closely with design, go-to-market, and platform engineering.
Responsibilities - Own the end-to-end roadmap across CLI, coding, evaluation, intern-style, and desktop surfaces, taking the product from private testing into a real business. - Define target users and competitive positioning for each surface, deciding where to invest across coding, cloud, and desktop agent categories. - Run private testing, design partner programs, and internal dogfooding while instrumenting adoption, retention, and spend metrics. - Deliver model fungibility through provider switching, fallbacks, tool guarantees, organizational guardrails, and eval-driven model selection that work across harnesses. - Own the full agent experience from install and authentication through CLI UX, harness configuration, secrets management, and app interfaces. - Translate waitlist, tester, and enterprise signal into roadmap priorities and push API and SDK gaps back into the core platform team.
Requirements - 5+ years of product management or founder experience building developer tools, agent products, or technical infrastructure. - A track record of taking a product from prototype to paying users, comfortable with ambiguity and hard tradeoffs. - Daily fluency with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools, with informed views on agent loops and harnesses. - Strong technical judgment including reading code, running CLIs, inspecting traces, and reasoning about tool calling, context management, and model tradeoffs. - Proven product taste for developer tools where small interaction details matter. - High agency with a bias toward action, including talking to users, prototyping, shipping, and iterating on a small team.
Nice to have - Founder or early-employee experience at a developer tools or agent company. - Background in multi-agent systems, agent skills or memory, or evaluation and benchmarking products. - Experience shipping Slack apps or native desktop apps, or growing products with both developer and non-developer users.
