Director, IT Operations

Role overview A senior leadership role overseeing IT operations for a healthcare SaaS organization that powers virtual care delivery. The position blends traditional infrastructure leadership with forward-looking AI-driven operations, sitting at the intersection of reliability engineering, security, and emerging machine learning practices.

Responsibilities - Lead a global team of 10+ spanning help desk, facilities, SOC policy enforcement, and asset management - Design and maintain infrastructure targeting 99.5%+ uptime, while delivering a helpdesk service that meets a 95% SLA - Co-own incident management, escalation protocols, and a blameless post-incident review culture - Manage infrastructure spend and optimize cloud resource use across AWS, GCP, or multi-cloud environments - Identify and roll out AI/ML tooling for predictive alerting, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and intelligent observability - Partner with security teams on SOC 2, HIPAA, and healthcare regulatory compliance, including disaster recovery and business continuity - Set SLAs and SLOs for critical services, drive capacity planning, and communicate infrastructure health to leadership

Requirements - 8+ years in IT operations, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability roles - 5+ years leading technical teams with at least 5 direct reports - Background operating mission-critical SaaS or healthcare platforms - Deep cloud expertise across AWS, GCP, or Azure with infrastructure-as-code proficiency - Strong knowledge of HIPAA, security baselines, and healthcare regulations - Demonstrated ability to design for 99.5%+ uptime and handle production incidents - Track record building automation-first operational cultures with strong on-call practices

Nice to have - Experience scaling IT in early-stage or hypergrowth companies - Hands-on work with Docker, Kubernetes, or modern DevOps stacks - Healthcare background involving EMR/EHR or telehealth platforms - Familiarity with ML/AI infrastructure, database operations, or healthcare data architecture - Prior use of AIOps platforms or AI-driven operations tooling
