Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and maintain customer-facing iOS apps for a large digital marketplace, supporting both sellers and buyers. You’ll guide technical decisions across new SwiftUI features and established UIKit code, own work through release and production follow-up, and use AI development tools to improve speed and quality while applying independent engineering judgment.
Responsibilities - Design, implement, and ship features across seller and buyer app experiences. - Shape iOS architecture, including shared packages and cross-cutting capabilities such as authentication, feature flags, and analytics. - Improve unit, UI, and snapshot testing and help maintain release checks and App Store delivery practices. - Use AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation; validate their output before adopting it. - Coordinate with product, design, backend, platform, QA, and Android colleagues to align behavior across platforms. - Mentor intermediate engineers and take responsibility for reliability and operational follow-up.
Requirements - At least 5 years of professional iOS development or equivalent experience building production apps. - Strong Swift skills and experience delivering apps with SwiftUI; ability to work in codebases that also use UIKit. - Experience shipping through TestFlight and the App Store, and owning complex features through release. - Solid knowledge of app architecture, concurrency, networking, performance, testing, and production quality. - Daily use of AI development tools, with the ability to assess their results critically. - A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have - Experience moving features from UIKit to SwiftUI, or building marketplace, auction, or other high-volume transactional apps. - Familiarity with modular architecture, Swift Package Manager, dependency injection, navigation coordination, CI/CD, and release automation. - Experience with camera or scanning features, real-time services, snapshot testing across operating systems, or hybrid WebView surfaces. - Android/Kotlin code review experience or a background mentoring engineers.
Benefits and work setup - Annual salary range: $125,000–$165,000 USD, depending on qualifications and experience. - Remote role. Candidates must already be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not offered. - Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement contributions, paid leave, disability and life insurance, an employee assistance program, and tuition reimbursement. Some benefits vary by country.
