Role overview A senior Android engineering role building consumer-facing experiences for a hunting-focused mobile product. The position partners with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineers to ship a polished, performant app, embed AI-assisted workflows, and run experiments that shape future iterations. It is a fast-paced environment suited to engineers who combine strong technical judgment with a customer mindset.
Responsibilities - Design and build Android application features that deliver engaging user outcomes. - Partner with engineers and product managers across teams to integrate services cleanly. - Contribute to architectural decisions and author unit, integration, and acceptance tests to keep the app reliable and maintainable. - Conduct thorough code reviews and maintain coverage across the team's work. - Design, build, and analyze A/B experiments to inform product direction. - Identify opportunities to embed AI as a co-pilot in daily engineering workflows, validating results with appropriate rigor.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience. - 4+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on Android development using Kotlin and/or Java. - Track record of evaluating technologies for stability, performance, and debuggability, and writing maintainable, well-tested code. - Strong sense of ownership, mentoring mindset, and advocacy for the customer experience. - Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, applied with sound judgment. - Hypothesis-driven, metrics-oriented approach; comfort running experiments and iterating on data. - Continuous integration experience and permanent U.S. work authorization. - Willingness to travel occasionally to corporate or strategic locations.
Nice to have - Familiarity with experimentation and analytics tooling such as Split or Eppo and client event instrumentation. - Knowledge of asynchronous programming using Flows and Coroutines, plus modern Android libraries such as Jetpack Compose.
