Quality Platform Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A consumer fintech platform serving millions of Americans is hiring a Quality Platform Engineer to own the internal tooling that helps every product team ship with confidence. This is a platform-level role focused on building shared automation frameworks, scalable test infrastructure, and quality practices that embed reliability into the development workflow rather than treating it as an afterthought. The work spans web, mobile, and backend services within a high-growth, mission-driven engineering culture.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain shared automation frameworks used by engineering teams across web, mobile, and backend services. - Operate and evolve the infrastructure that runs automated test suites at scale, including flaky-test detection and triage tooling. - Partner with product engineering teams to raise coverage and testing maturity, embedding quality practices directly into day-to-day workflows. - Build platform capabilities for test environment provisioning, test data management, and parallelized execution to keep feedback loops short. - Define quality standards, publish observability metrics (coverage, pass rates, run times), and maintain documentation and best practices for automated testing.
Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience in frontend, backend, or platform engineering with a strong testing focus. - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js (or comparable languages), with hands-on experience architecting test frameworks rather than only authoring test cases. - Experience with cloud-native infrastructure such as Kubernetes and AWS, plus containerized test environments. - Familiarity with testing across the full stack, including API and integration testing plus end-to-end testing for web and mobile (React Native or similar). - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence testing practices across multiple engineering teams. - A self-directed, builder mindset with a bias toward execution.
Nice to have - Background in microservice-oriented architectures and modern software engineering practices that support rapid ramp-up on new stacks. - Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (for example, tools similar to Claude Code or Cursor).
Benefits and work setup - Competitive base salary, stock options, and health benefits starting on day one. - 401(k) plan with employer match. - Remote-friendly within the US, with flexible time off and growth opportunities. - A high-growth, inclusive culture where engineering work has direct customer impact.
