Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead the planning and coordination of engineering programs supporting development of a fuel recycling facility. You will turn technical objectives into integrated plans, milestones, and decisions, working alongside engineering leads who own technical direction. The role calls for a technically fluent program manager who can make progress visible, align teams without relying on direct authority, and adapt plans as evidence develops.
Responsibilities - Define program scope, deliverables, success measures, milestones, and decision points in line with facility priorities and schedules. - Convert functional requirements into engineering and analysis work plans, including design, modeling, prototyping, and testing. - Coordinate dependencies, critical paths, resource needs, long-lead work, interfaces, and decision dates across teams. - Run planning sessions, technical coordination meetings, design reviews, and milestone reviews; track actions, decisions, and blockers through closure. - Maintain current records of risks, assumptions, interfaces, decisions, and open items, and present status and tradeoffs to technical and executive audiences. - Improve planning and execution practices as the program and its needs evolve.
Requirements - At least 3 years in engineering program management or a related technical project, product, systems engineering, or leadership role. - Experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering work in industrial, infrastructure, or similarly rigorous settings. - Experience delivering engineered hardware across areas such as design, analysis, safety, prototyping, operations, maintenance, or testing. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - A track record of guiding engineered products through successive stages of maturity. - Proficiency with project management tools, sound judgment in selecting tools as work changes, and comfort balancing priorities in a matrixed environment. - Strong written and verbal communication, including presenting technical status, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions to different levels of leadership.
Nice to have
Exposure to nuclear, chemical, mechanical, process, systems, industrial, or facility engineering; regulated design and licensing work; safety analysis, configuration control, requirements traceability, or verification planning; and risk or reliability methods such as FMEA, hazard analysis, test planning, and technical readiness assessments.
