Role overview A DevOps Engineer is needed to support a federal healthcare program that serves the Medicare experience of millions of Americans. The role focuses on building reliable cloud infrastructure and modern delivery pipelines within a fully remote, cross-functional Agile team. It combines platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and emerging AI tooling to enable secure, large-scale software delivery.
Responsibilities - Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that include automated scanning, testing, and deployment workflows - Provision and manage AWS infrastructure (ECS, Fargate, EC2, S3, RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, Secrets Manager) with Terraform modules and secure baselines - Operate and optimize Kubernetes-based containerized environments, including Argo Workflows - Support the rollout of AI engineering platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Cursor - Partner with architecture and development teams to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure patterns - Build internal tooling that improves developer and operational workflows
Requirements - Bachelor's degree - Hands-on experience managing core AWS services and cloud infrastructure - Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins - Proficiency with Terraform for environment provisioning and management - Experience with ECS and containerized deployments - Authorization to work in the United States; some roles may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a federal background investigation or security clearance
Nice to have - Familiarity with Argo Workflows - Security engineering experience with FISMA, FedRAMP, or ATO processes - Clear written and verbal communication in a remote, collaborative Agile setting
