VP, Agentic AI

Role overview

Set the direction for agent-based AI products that help people search for, book, pay for, and manage hotel stays. Reporting to the CEO, this hands-on leadership role spans product decisions, technical architecture, customer and commercial discovery, and the creation of a small team. The central challenge is making complete travel transactions reliable, including when bookings need to change or fail.

Responsibilities

- Identify valuable opportunities for AI agents across hotel discovery, booking, payment, changes, and cancellations. - Design secure APIs and agent tools that let software agents complete travel tasks and interact with inventory. - Build and test prototypes and production capabilities using existing travel infrastructure and commercial relationships. - Make product and engineering decisions, balancing usability, reliability, and business value. - Work with engineering teams and grow a focused team as the function develops. - Address transaction failures and keep travelers informed throughout the booking lifecycle.

Requirements

- Deep software engineering experience, ideally as a technical founder, CTO, or hands-on engineering leader, with the ability to design and build complex systems. - Direct experience building agentic AI systems, preferably deployed for real users. - Understanding of reliability, evaluation, and failure handling in AI applications. - Experience taking products from early concept through production and making both technical and product decisions. - Ability to identify commercial opportunities, understand customer needs, and turn them into useful products. - Comfort working across teams, building a function, and making decisions in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

- Experience with API platforms, marketplaces, payments, or travel technology.
