Senior Cloud Engineer

Role overview Lead the cloud platform and delivery foundations used by application teams building internal tools, orchestration systems, and operational software in a regulated healthcare setting. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role, responsible for AWS infrastructure, deployment workflows, observability, security controls, and reliable production operations. The position is remote within the United States.

Responsibilities - Design and operate AWS environments, including networking, identity and access, compute, storage, and managed services. - Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns and maintain deployment pipelines with appropriate safety checks. - Improve logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting so teams can detect and investigate production issues. - Maintain secrets, access controls, audit logging, and other security and compliance safeguards for application systems. - Work with site reliability and application engineers on reliability, incident response, deployment design, and production readiness. - Plan environment provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and decommissioning with documented rollback plans; maintain runbooks and architecture records. - Participate in a small on-call rotation and coordinate with data and AI engineering teams on shared platform needs.

Requirements - At least five years of combined cloud, DevOps, platform, or site reliability experience, including substantial production work with AWS. - Strong Terraform skills; experience with Helm or CloudFormation is also relevant. - Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes, ideally EKS, including cluster operations, networking, and Helm charts. - Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and using artifact management tools. - Working ability in Python and shell scripting, plus comfort reviewing application code. - Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
