Role overview A senior-level Data Architect position focused on designing, building, and refining cloud-native data platforms. The role centers on shaping scalable analytics infrastructure, partnering with engineering teams and business stakeholders, and ensuring that data solutions remain secure, governed, performant, and cost-conscious.
Responsibilities - Architect and evolve cloud data platforms on Google Cloud, with BigQuery as the core analytics engine, balancing reliability, scalability, and cost. - Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models along with integration patterns that support downstream analytical and operational use cases. - Lead the design and oversight of ETL and ELT pipelines that ingest and transform data from diverse sources. - Define and champion architectural standards, design principles, and engineering best practices across data teams. - Embed data governance, access control, data quality, and compliance practices into platforms and processes. - Tune BigQuery workloads, storage strategies, partitioning, clustering, and cloud spend to keep performance and budgets on track.
Requirements - At least five years of hands-on experience in BI, analytics, or data engineering roles. - Demonstrated track record as a Data Architect owning end-to-end data platform design. - Advanced proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services and BigQuery. - Practical experience designing cloud data architectures, data models, and pipelines at scale. - Solid understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data integration techniques, governance frameworks, and security controls. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
Nice to have - Experience optimizing BigQuery query performance and cloud cost management. - Familiarity with AI- and data-driven transformation initiatives.
