Senior Analytics Engineer

Role overview

A Senior Analytics Engineer role supporting both data infrastructure and business insights, with a strong focus on growth, marketing, and patient acquisition analytics within a digital healthcare environment. The position operates across the full data pipeline, partnering closely with the Principal Data Engineer to deliver reliable, scalable data assets while empowering analysts and stakeholders to make confident, data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

- Operate across the data stack to build, manage, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion through reporting. - Develop, test, and maintain production-grade data models and schemas in BigQuery using dbt, ensuring clean lineage and optimized performance. - Configure and manage data ingestion pipelines with Fivetran to integrate new operational, financial, and clinical data sources. - Partner with clinical, operations, finance, and growth teams to translate ambiguous business requests into structured data projects, and communicate insights and constraints clearly to both technical and non-technical leaders. - Design and maintain semantic layers and scalable reporting structures in Looker (LookML) to enable self-service analytics. - Mentor data analysts, establish best practices for code review, version control, and testing, and act as an escalation point. - Implement data validation, dbt tests, and monitoring to protect data integrity, and maintain documentation of models, definitions, and governance policies.

Requirements

- 6+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, data engineering, or related full-stack data roles. - Prior experience in a fast-paced startup environment with the ability to operate autonomously and navigate ambiguity. - Advanced SQL proficiency and deep, hands-on experience building scalable data models with dbt. - Strong experience managing and optimizing BigQuery as a cloud data warehouse. - Proven track record with Fivetran or similar ingestion tools and with Looker/LookML. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, translating business requirements into technical execution. - Familiarity with data governance, version control (Git), and handling sensitive data in a secure, compliant environment such as HIPAA. - Experience partnering with Marketing or Growth teams on acquisition, attribution, funnel performance, conversion, and growth analytics is strongly preferred.
