Fullstack Developer - Backend Focus / Remote within Germany (all genders)

Role overview

A small cross-functional product team building a B2B marketplace and data platform for the battery lifecycle is hiring a fullstack engineer whose primary strength lies in backend engineering. The role spans architecture, APIs, infrastructure, and production-ready frontend work inside a containerized microservices environment on AWS. It suits someone who wants true end-to-end ownership of features rather than staying inside a backend or frontend silo.

Responsibilities

- Own features end-to-end, from architecture and data modeling through backend implementation, Angular frontend work, deployment, and production support - Design, build, and operate container-based backend services, APIs, and AWS infrastructure - Shape solutions for distributed, message-driven, service-oriented systems - Implement the frontend portion of features in Angular based on product requirements and designs - Translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions while continuously improving performance, reliability, and maintainability - Write clean, testable code, run thorough code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and debug issues across the full stack - Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers in an agile setup, including use of AI coding assistants as a regular part of the workflow with critical review of generated code

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional software development experience, the majority focused on backend engineering - Strong professional experience with PHP and Symfony, or solid experience in Java, Python, or Node.js plus readiness to work in PHP and Symfony from day one - Deep understanding of REST APIs, message-based systems, microservice architectures, and distributed systems - Strong experience with relational databases, data modeling, and schema design - Hands-on professional experience with AWS, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code tooling - Comfort implementing production-ready Angular features and working across backend, frontend, and infrastructure

Nice to have

- Prior experience leading or mentoring engineers - Familiarity with AI or LLM tooling, MCP servers, or agent orchestration - Component libraries, design systems, and frontend performance optimization work - AWS certifications
