About this role
Role overview A remote, customer-facing network engineering role supporting multiple client environments with modern WAN and edge connectivity solutions. The engineer deploys and troubleshoots Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki, and Cradlepoint NetCloud platforms, while guiding field technicians through live installs, cutovers, and incident resolution. The schedule and tempo favor someone who can juggle several customer networks in parallel during late-day and evening hours.
Responsibilities - Deploy, configure, and support Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN environments, including vManage and vEdge or cEdge devices. - Configure and maintain Cisco Meraki networks across MX security appliances, MS switches, and MR wireless platforms. - Implement and support Cradlepoint routers through NetCloud Manager, integrating LTE, 5G, and satellite connectivity. - Provide real-time remote engineering support to field technicians during onsite installations, cutovers, and troubleshooting. - Validate turn-ups, isolate issues during live deployments, and drive rapid resolution under tight timelines. - Maintain customer-specific standards, SLAs, and security requirements across multiple concurrent accounts.
Requirements - Four to seven or more years of hands-on data networking or network engineering experience on large-scale or multi-site deployments. - Strong practical experience with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, including vManage, policy control, and routing. - Solid experience with Cisco Meraki MX, MS, and MR platforms and the Cradlepoint NetCloud ecosystem. - Working knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, TCP and IP, VPNs, and core network security fundamentals. - Experience supporting distributed environments and remote site connectivity, including wired and wireless monitoring tools. - Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to guide field technicians and non-technical stakeholders under pressure. - Comfort with Windows and macOS endpoints plus mobile devices, and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to have - Starlink or other satellite deployment experience, plus Fortinet firewalls and SD-WAN familiarity. - Multi-carrier cellular deployments and failover design experience. - Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Meraki CMNA or CMNO, Cradlepoint, Juniper, CompTIA, Apple, Linux, or Fortinet NSE.
