Graphic Designer (12mos. Contract)
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A small in-house creative team is looking for a Graphic Designer on a 12-month contract to drive execution across campaign, web, and social work for a consumer-focused brand. The role reports to the Creative Lead and partners closely with a UI Designer and a copywriter, handling a high volume of varied output end to end.
Responsibilities
- Design assets across web, social, paid ads, email templates, campaign work, retail signage, event booth graphics, and sales collateral, working from briefs alongside the UI Designer and Creative Lead. - Contribute creative ideas during campaign discussions and propose original directions rather than only executing others' concepts. - Adapt campaign concepts into full asset sets across formats, sizes, and channels while maintaining a consistent brand system. - Prepare and hand off production-ready files for both screen and print, applying established brand guidelines and helping extend them as new needs arise. - Use AI tools as a working part of ideation, iteration, and production, with the judgment to rework outputs by hand when quality falls short. - Collaborate directly with stakeholders across marketing, product, and web, incorporating feedback into revisions, and align output with a global integrated marketing plan.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional graphic design experience, ideally in-house or brand-side; consumer tech, DTC, or ecommerce background is a strong plus. - A portfolio demonstrating volume and range, including campaign systems, social sets, and web assets, with context on the constraints behind each piece. - Strong Figma fluency, since most digital assets are designed there, paired with solid Adobe Creative Cloud skills. - Practical experience with AI in a design workflow, actively testing new tools rather than passively following them, and bringing back what actually works. - A sharp eye for detail across spacing, alignment, typography, and color, catching errors before files reach stakeholders or printers. - Comfort working within an existing brand system and managing several projects at different stages without being chased.
Nice to have
- Video and motion skills, including familiarity with AI video and editing tools, as the team is pushing in this direction. - Print production experience, including bleed, color profiles, and preparing files to a printer's spec. - Experience working alongside a design system or component library.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote, with a strong preference for West Coast candidates or PST working hours. - Tooling is provided, including Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and a dedicated AI design seat, so personal tools are not required. - Work runs from a shared project board with short review cycles rather than long agency-style handoffs, and training on new tools, including AI, is supported.
