Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the product direction for network observability tools used to understand and troubleshoot production networks. You’ll guide work from product definition through launch and continued improvement across cloud and self-managed deployments, combining technical depth with clear customer and business value.
Responsibilities - Turn product strategy into a sequenced roadmap and lead observability features from definition through general availability and iteration. - Develop deep expertise in how network telemetry is collected, modeled, and used to detect, diagnose, and resolve operational issues. - Work directly with customers and prospects through discovery, technical sales conversations, and design partner programs. - Prototype ideas to answer product questions and validate approaches with engineers and customers. - Equip sales and customer-facing teams with product positioning, demonstrations, and technical enablement. - Coordinate with related product teams so observability, discovery, and assurance capabilities work together; define success measures and use them to guide decisions.
Requirements - 7–10 or more years of B2B software product management leadership, including at least three years with technically complex products such as networking, infrastructure, observability, security, or developer platforms. - Product experience in network observability, monitoring, or telemetry. - Knowledge of telemetry approaches such as SNMP, gNMI, NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX, and OpenTelemetry, including their tradeoffs. - Practical ability to work with code, script against APIs, build prototypes, and review technical changes with engineering teams. - Ability to explain technical details clearly to audiences ranging from engineers to executives. - Track record of owning products through their lifecycle, aligning cross-functional teams, and creating structure in ambiguous situations.
Nice to have - Experience with open-source products or communities, network automation, or network source-of-truth tools. - Experience delivering products both as hosted software and for customer-managed environments. - Familiarity with device discovery or inventory ingestion.
