Software Engineering Intern

Role overview A remote Software Engineering Intern position focused on supporting a software team that works on data-driven applications in a healthcare-adjacent environment. The intern will contribute to requirement analysis, scripting, database work, and quality improvements, while learning production engineering practices alongside experienced developers.

Responsibilities - Translate user requirements into working code, then format, validate, and upload supporting data - Implement database schema changes and assist with ongoing database administration - Write scripts to automate previously manual workflows - Debug reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and apply fixes to improve software reliability - Develop unit tests and contribute to code reviews, testing, and test automation efforts - Communicate with end users to clarify needs and complete required privacy and compliance training shortly after starting

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, completion of a high-quality coding bootcamp, or equivalent practical experience - Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language such as JavaScript, Python, or Java - Familiarity with SQL and MySQL administration - Strong written and verbal English communication skills - Demonstrated ownership of work and willingness to learn new skills quickly - Ability to pass a post-offer criminal background check

Nice to have - Experience with Google Sheets formulas and Google Apps Script
