Storage and Backup Enterprise Services Architect @Advizex (Remote)

Role overview Serve as a senior architect for a managed services practice, leading hybrid cloud and storage/backup architectures for enterprise customers in SLA-driven environments. This is a senior, customer-facing role that blends hands-on technical leadership with advisory, presales, and operational responsibilities across 24x7 managed services.

Responsibilities - Define and own customer-facing hybrid cloud architectures for Azure-based managed services, including multi-tenant platforms serving multiple enterprise clients - Maintain hands-on involvement with storage and backup systems in production, leading troubleshooting and serving as the highest-level escalation point - Act as a technical lead and trusted advisor, participating in architecture reviews, technical workshops, and quarterly business reviews - Provide architectural leadership for 24x7 managed service operations, including on-call participation and major incident response - Translate customer business requirements into secure, supportable cloud architectures and guide modernization and hybrid integration strategies - Mentor senior engineers and architects, influencing technical strategy, tooling, and service offerings across the managed services portfolio - Complete ongoing security awareness training and escalate identified risks

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; master's preferred - 15+ years of storage and backup system administration and engineering in enterprise environments - 5+ years designing and operating Microsoft Azure for enterprise or managed services customers - One Dell backup/data-protection certification (Avamar, Data Domain, or PowerProtect) - One specialized Dell enterprise storage certification in either PowerScale or PowerMax - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex issues - Excellent communication skills for conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have - Azure Architect Certification - Experience in MSPs or consulting organizations supporting multiple enterprise customers - Familiarity with containers and orchestration at scale (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) - ITIL, SRE, or service management framework experience - Exposure to cloud migration and modernization engagements
