Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer

Role overview A senior platform engineering role leading a large-scale migration of production workloads from on-premise data centers to Google Cloud Platform. The position sits at the intersection of cloud-native infrastructure, financial data systems, and high-availability operations, with a mandate to raise reliability, embed security by design, and lift developer velocity across the engineering organization.

Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end migration of production services from legacy on-premise environments to a public cloud, with minimal customer-impacting regressions. - Design and operate production-grade Kubernetes and GCP architectures targeting 99.99%+ availability. - Improve incident triage and recovery time through cloud-aware diagnostics, automated recovery patterns, and resilient operational runbooks. - Reduce developer friction by optimizing platform response times and ensuring reliable, repeatable deployment events. - Embed security and compliance controls directly into platform abstractions (policy-as-code, identity, networking) in partnership with security and compliance stakeholders. - Build shared tooling, patterns, and golden paths so engineering teams can operate independently in the cloud without relying on external consultants.

Requirements - 10+ years of experience in developer, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering roles. - 5+ years of hands-on cloud experience, including meaningful on-premise-to-cloud migration work. - 5+ years operating Kubernetes and microservices at scale in production. - Demonstrated ability to triage and debug complex incidents under pressure. - Strong background with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling. - Proficiency in Golang, Ruby, Java, or comparable systems programming languages.

Nice to have - Experience building internal developer platforms, enablement frameworks, or cloud abstraction layers. - Familiarity with Backstage, Crossplane, Argo, Terraform, or policy-as-code frameworks. - Working knowledge of SRE practices, SLIs/SLOs, chaos engineering, and reliability engineering frameworks.
