Engineering Manager - Observability | Sweden | Remote

Role overview Lead a distributed engineering group responsible for the configuration and deployment tooling that turns the intent to monitor systems into production-ready observability. The position blends people leadership with cross-functional partnership, guiding a remote team of backend and frontend engineers who own a cloud-based fleet control plane, a Kubernetes monitoring Helm chart, and an instrumentation hub that combines the two into a near one-command setup experience. The work sits inside a larger composable observability platform that unifies metrics, logs, traces, and profiles on top of widely used open source projects.

Responsibilities - Manage and grow a remote engineering team, running regular feedback cycles, career conversations, and growth planning for each engineer. - Partner with go-to-market colleagues so customers and prospects succeed with their collection and onboarding journey. - Coordinate with product and engineering leadership to ensure the fleet control plane, Kubernetes Helm chart, and instrumentation hub integrate smoothly into the broader end-to-end platform experience. - Steer projects from early ideation through planning, execution, and post-launch, maintaining a steady cadence of high-quality delivery. - Build a psychologically safe environment where engineers can experiment, learn quickly, and iterate. - Work across team boundaries, contributing to projects outside the immediate scope and partnering with other functions to resolve customer problems.

Requirements - Demonstrated success managing software engineers, ideally across multiple geographies and time zones. - Strong background in backend and/or frontend engineering, with the ability to support technical decision-making. - Experience guiding projects through the full lifecycle, from ideation to post-launch learning. - Familiarity with cloud-based control planes, Kubernetes deployments, or infrastructure tooling. - Excellent collaboration skills for working across product, engineering, and go-to-market functions. - Comfort operating remotely and asynchronously in a globally distributed organization.

Nice to have - Exposure to observability tooling, telemetry pipelines, or open source monitoring ecosystems. - Hands-on experience with Helm, Kubernetes operators, or large-scale fleet management systems. - Background in developer productivity, DevOps, or platform engineering.
