Build Infrastructure Engineer (JetBrains IDEs)

Role overview Strengthen the build and release infrastructure behind a large-scale suite of integrated development environments used by hundreds of thousands of developers worldwide. The role focuses on enabling fast, reliable test execution, installer builds, and product releases for a codebase spanning dozens of gigabytes and many contributing engineers.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain infrastructure that supports quick and easy test runs, installer builds, product releases, and related release engineering tasks. - Design, write, and review code primarily in Java or Kotlin, with an emphasis on readability and long-term maintainability. - Work with build systems such as Bazel, Gradle, or Maven to streamline development workflows. - Operate and extend DevOps tooling across cloud and infrastructure providers, including AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer, and Ansible. - Handle Linux fundamentals and shell scripting, including basic system administration tasks. - Collaborate closely with other teams and contribute to internal collaboration, source control, and CI/CD tooling used by the wider engineering organization.

Requirements - Hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin stack development. - Familiarity with build systems such as Bazel, Gradle, or Maven. - Experience with DevOps tooling such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer, or Ansible. - Comfort with Linux fundamentals and shell scripting for routine system administration. - Strong understanding of the algorithms behind the code you write. - Track record of teamwork, openness to diverse opinions, and the ability to communicate and collaborate closely across teams.

Nice to have - Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects demonstrating initiative. - Willingness to learn and adopt new approaches and technologies.
