Engineering Manager - Observability | Spain | Remote

Role overview Lead a distributed engineering team focused on the data ingestion layer of a large-scale observability platform. The role blends people leadership with technical direction, guiding engineers who build and operate tooling that lets customers roll out collectors, deploy monitoring into Kubernetes clusters, and combine those flows into a single-command experience. Expect close partnership with product, engineering leadership, and go-to-market teams across multiple regions.

Responsibilities - Manage and grow a remote team of backend and frontend engineers, providing regular feedback and supporting each person's career development. - Partner with go-to-market teams to help prospects and customers succeed with their adoption of the observability collection tooling. - Coordinate with product and engineering leadership to make sure fleet management, the Kubernetes deployment chart, and the instrumentation hub fit smoothly into the broader end-to-end product experience. - Guide the team through ideation, planning, execution, and post-launch phases, delivering high-quality results on a consistent cadence. - Build a psychologically safe environment where engineers can learn, experiment, and iterate quickly while embracing continuous improvement. - Collaborate across team boundaries, contributing to projects outside the immediate scope and partnering with other functions to solve customer problems.

Requirements - Demonstrated experience managing software engineers, including performance feedback and career growth conversations. - Strong background working on backend and frontend systems, ideally for cloud-based platforms or developer tooling. - Comfortable leading a fully remote, distributed team across multiple time zones. - Ability to collaborate with product, design, and go-to-market stakeholders to align technical work with customer outcomes. - Skilled at guiding teams through the full project lifecycle, from early concept to post-launch iteration. - Experience fostering inclusive, psychologically safe engineering cultures that value experimentation.

Nice to have - Familiarity with observability tooling such as metrics, logs, traces, or profiling systems. - Exposure to Kubernetes-based deployments, Helm charts, or large-scale fleet or configuration management tooling. - Comfort working with open-source communities and contributing to community-driven projects.
